Pantanal

Pantanal is a sanctum for all wildlife enthusiasts out there. Located in the heart of South America, the world’s largest wetland covers some 81,081 sq miles which majorly is in Brazil. The name ‘Pantanal’ comes from the Portuguese word pântano which means ‘abundance, agglomeration, collection’. It is an ecosystem abundant with around 1,000 bird species, 400 fish species, 300 mammalian species, 480 reptile species and over 9000 different subspecies of invertebrates.
