Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, is an island country in South Asia, located in the Indian Ocean to the southwest of the Bay of Bengal and to the southeast of the Arabian Sea. The island is home to many cultures, languages and ethnicities. The majority of the population are from the Sinhalese ethnicity, while a large minority of Tamils have also played an influential role in the island's history Sri Lanka is one of 25 biodiversity hotspots in the world Although the country is relatively small in size, it has the highest biodiversity density in Asia. Sri Lanka has declared 24 wildlife reserves, which are home to a wide range of native species such as Asian elephants, leopards, sloth bears, the unique slender loris, a variety of deer, langurs, the wild boar, porcupines and Indian pangolins. Sri Lanka is home to over 250 species of resident birds It has declared several bird sanctuaries in the last few years and one of the hotspots for wildlife.

Yala National Park
Yala combines a nature reserve with a national park. Divided into 5 blocks, the park has a protected area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks and lagoons. Two blocks are currently opened to the public. Situated in Sri Lanka’s southeast hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean, Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Ironically, the park was initially used as a hunting ground for the elite under British rule. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks, and crocodile.

Day 1: Arrival Colombo DINNER

Welcome to the beautiful paradise in the Indian Ocean! We hope to give you an extraordinary wildlife, cultural and beach experience which will heal your soul for a great vacation! You will be warmly welcomed by our Chauffer guide and will be transferred to Jetwing Blue which will give you all the relaxation you need for a fresh start.
Overnight stay at Jetwing Blue

Day 2: Colombo - Yala BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER

After breakfast at Jetwing Blue, leave to Yala.
Yala National Park, located in southeastern Sri Lanka, is famous for its high density of leopards and diverse wildlife, offering visitors thrilling safari experiences amid its varied landscapes of forests, grasslands, and lagoons.
Optional activity: Half day safari at Yala National Park.
Dinner and overnight stay at Jetwing Yala

Day 3 & Day 4: Two full day safaris at Yala National Park BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER

2 x full day safaris at Yala National Park, with packed breakfast and lunch.
(The safaris can be customized to full day safari or 2 x half day safaris) All meals and overnight stay at Jetwing Yala.

Day 5: Yala to Mirissa BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER

After breakfast at Jetwing Yala, leave to Weligama. (2hrs 30min drive)
Lunch at local restaurant.
Dinner and overnight stay at Twenty-two Weligamabay.

Day 6: Whale Watching BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER

Early morning whale watching in Mirissa (shared boat).
Mirissa is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts seeking whale watching experiences. Here, amidst the tranquil seas, travelers can marvel at the graceful movements of blue whales and playful pods of dolphins, all while respecting the natural habitat of these majestic marine creatures.
Lunch at local restaurant (inside Galle Fort)
After that visit Galle Dutch Fort.
Overnight stay at Twenty-Two Weligamabay

Day 7: Depart to Colombo Airport 2.5 Hrs BREAKFAST

As all good things must come to an end, we bid you farewell as our Chauffeur Guide transfers you to the Airport to meet your departure flight home.

Travel Information

Money
Sri Lanka is a country where USD is commonly accepted everywhere. This includes hotels, shops, restaurants, bars and most places of interest while on a holiday. Credit card facility will also be available at all hotels to pay for extras / incidentals.
Gratuity
We will collect a common kitty for the gratuity of all staff involved the making your trip special. The tour leader will collect this at the start of the trip so he/she can distribute it during the trip. We recommend USD 100 per person as a gratuity but leave it to the guest discretion to decide.
Whale watching
When going for whale watching the sea can be quite rough. Guests who have motion sickness should take precautionary medicines as prescribed by their physician.
Weather
The month of January is Sri Lanka’s dry season and you can expect the weather to be warm and humid. Average daily temperatures can range from 25 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius. Guests can expect a good amount of sunshine with negligible chances of rain.
